‘America First’ candidate Brandon Gill raises nearly $1.5 million for congressional campaign in Texas’ 26th District

Gill, who has labeled himself "America First," is competing against nine other Republican candidates to receive the nomination when voters in the district head to the polls for the March 5 primary election.

"In the race for Texas' 26th open Congressional District, Brandon Gill today announces nearly $1.5 million raised in less than two months since launching his America First campaign," the candidate's office wrote in a press release.

It was revealed that $500,000 had been raised by the Brandon Gill for Texas congressional campaign committee while the other $1 million came via Right Texas, a super PAC that endorsed him in December.

"The broken status quo in Washington must change," Gill said, per the press release. "It's an honor to receive support from across our district who want to send an America First candidate to Washington."

He vowed to "fight to secure our southern border, end reckless spending, and stop woke and weaponized government," adding, "We have a country to save."

Gill, who is married to the daughter of prominent conservative commentator and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza, has managed to obtain a number of high-profile endorsements for his campaign, including from former President Donald Trump.

In early December, the former president announced his support for Gill via a post on Truth Social.

"It is my great honor to ENDORSE Brandon Gill for U.S. Congress in Texas-26," Trump declared. "He is the clear 'America First' candidate, and is as loyal and tough as they come. He's a Cowboy, Businessman, Husband and Father, but also, a True Patriot. Brandon is Strong on SECURING OUR BORDER, STOPPING CRIME, FIGHTING INFLATION, & PROTECTING OUR SECOND AMENDMENT. He also comes with the love and respect of his father-in-law, a true warrior, Dinesh D'Souza. Brandon will not let you down. Onward to VICTORY!"
