Loose and boxed ammunition, ‘fanny pack w/ ammo’ found on set where Alec Baldwin killed cinematographer

The inventory of items seized by authorities did not specify whether the ammo was live, dummy bullets, or blank cartridges, nor did it specify what type of ammo, the Daily Mail reports.

Items seized included three revolvers, two boxes of "ammo," "loose ammo and boxes," spent casings, and "a fanny pack w/ammo," according to the inventory delivered to Santa Fe County Magistrate Court.

Also retrieved from the set were two leather gun belts with holders, articles of clothing, and swabs of what was believed to be blood found by investigators.

Investigators are hoping that a forensic analysis of ballistic evidence will shed light on what type of projectile killed Hutchins, and how it got into the revolver Baldwin fired.

"This is a complicated case," Juan Rios, spokesman for the Santa Fe Sheriff's Department, said on Monday.

Veteran professional armorer Mike Tristano told the New York Times that the inventory reveals little about the shooting, but noted that it was unusual to keep loose ammunition and spect casings on set. He said they would usually be placed in a clearly labeled box.

"The fact that there is loose ammunition and casings raises questions about the organization of the armory department," said Tristano.

According to TMZ, the gun connected to the shooting of Hutchins was being used by crew members for target practice off set.

Sources said that the target practice used live rounds, which could explain how the lethal bullets found their way onto set.

"Rust" head armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has been named as the person who loaded Baldwin's revolver leading up to the tragic events of last Thursday.

Assistant director Dave Halls then handed Baldwin the vintage Colt pistol, stating that the gun was "cold."

One crew member that has previously worked with Halls criticized him for his lack of attention towards safety, and his flippant attitude.

"He was very flippant about my insistence on having a safety meeting about the weapons, on both of the sets," said Jay, who spoke using a pseudonym for fear of being blacklisted. "He would rush through it and say, alright guys, be safe, let's get to work."

The head electrician for "Rust," who was standing next to Hutchins when she was shot, blasted the set's producers for failing to hire professionals.

"Yes, I was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Halyna during this fatal shot that took her life and injured the director Joel Souza. I was holding her in my arms while she was dying. Her blood was on my hands," wrote Serge Svetnoy on Facebook.

"I do not wish anyone to go through what I went through, what her husband Matt Hutchins and her son Andros went through, and the actor Alec Baldwin, who has been handed a gun on set. He has to live with the thought that he took the life of the human because of unprofessional people," Svetnoy added.

Blaming Hutchins' death on "negligence and unprofessionalism," Svetnoy wrote "The negligence from the person who was supposed to check the weapon on the site did not do this; the person who had to announce that the loaded gun was on the site did not do this; The person who should have checked this weapon before bringing it to the set did not do it. And the DEATH OF THE HUMAN IS THE RESULT!"

"I'm sure that we had the professionals in every department, but one - the department that was responsible for the weapons," wrote Svetnoy.

"There is no way a twenty-four-year-old woman can be a professional with armory; there is no way that her more-or-less the same-aged friend from school, neighborhood, Instagram, or God knows where else, can be a professional in this field," he continued.
