Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York tweeted out that "In Texas, Republicans passed a law allowing rapists for suing their victims for getting an abortion." The only problem is that it's not true.
Texas did pass a ban on abortion, which is not enforceable by law enforcement but relies on average citizens to report those who are performing or facilitating abortions. A woman who is seeking an abortion is not liable to be sued or prosecuted under the law.

Blue states, California, Connecticut, and Colorado among them, have identified themselves as "sanctuary states" for abortion, while others, Texas, Florida, Missouri, and others, are instituting limits on the practice.
