On Wednesday, Biden announced that the United States would be sending a $100 million aid package to Gaza and the West Bank.
"Today I am also announcing $100 million in new US funding for humanitarian assistance in both Gaza and the West Bank," Biden said in Tel Aviv. "This money will support more than one million displaced in the conflict affecting Palestinians including emergency needs in Gaza."

View on XBiden said that he had spoken with the Israeli cabinet in the morning, and requested that they "agree to the delivery of lifesaving humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza. Based on the understanding that there will be inspections and that the aid should go to civilians, not to Hamas, Israel agreed that humanitarian assistance can begin to move from Egypt to Gaza."
"Let me be clear: If Hamas diverts or steals the assistance, they will have demonstrated once again that they have no concern for the welfare of the Palestinian people and it will end. As a practical matter, it will — it will stop the international community from being able to provide this aid."
This comes as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) wrote a since-deleted post on X that they had received reports of people claiming they were from the Hamas-run health ministry loading supplies onto trucks, the Times of Israel reported.
The post stated that "UNRWA fuel and other types of material are kept for strictly humanitarian purposes — any other use is strongly condemned."
The organization said that officials were "compelled to evacuate" its headquarters in Gaza City on Friday, and have had "no access to the compound and no additional details about the removal of assets." They added that cameras monitoring the facility stopped working after they were damaged by "blasts from the conflict in previous days."
In a post later made by the UNRWA, the organization stated, "With regards to reports on social media of looting of an UNRWA warehouse, UNRWA would like to confirm that no looting has taken place in any of its warehouses in the Gaza Strip."
"The images circulating on social media were of a movement of basic medical supplies from the UNRWA warehouse to health partners."
According to the Times of Israel, the country’s military liaison to the Palestinians said Hamas had stolen 24,000 liters of fuel as well as medical supplies from UNRWA.
UN sources and Israeli officials told Politico reporter Barak Ravid that theft of the items did occur.
