An illegal immigrant wanted on child rape charges in Ecuador has been arrested in Boston, according to a press release from US Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE). He had escaped to the US as a fugitive from Ecuador.
The fugitive Ecuadorian and wanted child predator suspect was hiding out in the United States after illegally entering the country on June 4, 2021, near San Luis, Arizona. He was captured by Biden's border patrol agents but was released and given an order to appear in court at a later date, the press release stated.

Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston apprehended the suspect on June 12, near his residence in Northampton, Massachusetts. He is wanted as a fugitive in his home country on child rape charges and invasion of privacy, according to federal authorities. On May 16, 2023, Ecuadorian authorities issued an arrest warrant for the noncitizen as a fugitive from justice.
"This Ecuadorian fugitive is facing some very serious charges, but instead of facing the justice system, he fled and attempted to take refuge in Massachusetts," said Todd Lyons, ERO Boston Field Officer Director. "He posed a significant threat to the children of our communities, and we cannot allow that to continue. ERO Boston will continue to prioritize the safety of our public by apprehending and removing egregious noncitizen offenders from New England."
Under the Biden administration, the ongoing border crisis has allowed other criminals to enter the country due to the soft border security policies pursued under Biden’s tenure in office. In addition to criminal activity, national security has also been a concern. ISIS has reportedly funneled over 400 illegal immigrants into the country with a human smuggling network.
ICE said members of the public with information regarding child sex offenders can make reports by dialing the ICE Tip Line at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or completing the online tip form.
