BREAKING: Alvin Bragg demands Trump be silenced with gag order in business records case

Left-wing Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg asked a judge on Monday to impose a gag-order on former President Donald Trump in his New York business records case against Trump.
Bragg cited “public and inflammatory remarks about the participants in various judicial proceedings against him” as the reason for the gag order to Judge Juan Merchan.
The prosecution further argued to the judge that Trump’s remarks "pose a significant and imminent threat to the orderly administration of this criminal proceeding," according to ABC News.
In addition, the motion from Bragg asked to bar Trump’s legal team from being able to introduce evidence regarding the credibility of Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen, who has been accused of committing perjury. The motion also asks that the identities of the jurors in the case be kept private to only those in the court room during proceedings.
Bragg has claimed that funds Trump paid to his attorney and classified as legal fees were used by that attorney to pay porn star Stormy Daniels, with whom Trump is alleged to have had a dalliance. Bragg has charged Trump with 34 counts of falsifying business records and has upped those misdemeanors to a felony, though he has not stated what the felony charges would be.
To elevate the misdemeanors to a felony, Bragg would have to prove that Trump committed those crimes in service to a felony. He has not identified what that felony is. Trump has pleaded not guilty on all counts related to the trial.
The gag order comes as Trump has already been hit with another order seeking to silence him in the federal elections case in Washington DC.
Amidst the prosecution of Trump, Bragg has come under fire recently for being soft on crime in New York, including releasing several illegal immigrants out of custody who were charged with beating up two NYPD officers in January. Bragg downgraded 60 percent of felony cases during 2023 in his district.
