The scheduled appearance of Kyle Rittenhouse at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter event at the University of Memphis has resulted in rising tension and threats of violence by protestors attempting to disrupt the event.
Black Lives Matter protestors were present on the University of Memphis's campus on Wednesday, chanting derogatory remarks about Rittenhouse, including "Kyle is a killer," according to footage posted by TPUSA Frontlines and Julio Rosas. The protestors were later seen entering the event, tapping the names of the men involved in Rittenhouse's self-defense case on the seats. School officials reportedly did nothing to stop these protestors from carrying out such actions.

According to TPUSA, the chapter President met with school officials and agreed to post a new ticketing link for the event. But when this link went live, protestor groups were able to get a hold of it and share it with their followers.

View on X“The University of Memphis has taken unprecedented actions to undermine our event. Seizing control of seating arrangements and the ticketing system —on the day of the event— has never happened in our many years of campus organizing. Despite being promised control over 50 seats, we’re now restricted to just a single row of 8 seats. This abrupt change will result in hundreds of disappointed students whose tickets will no longer grant them entrance into the venue.” said TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet.
