BREAKING: CNN fires Cuomo producer charged with luring minors for sex

Griffin was charged by a grand jury in Vermont "with three counts of using a facility of interstate commerce to attempt to entice minors to engage in unlawful sexual activity."

"We take the charges against Mr. Griffin incredibly seriously," a CNN spokesperson said on Friday according to Fox News. "We only learned of his arrest this afternoon and have suspended him pending investigation."

From April to July 2020, Griffin used online messaging systems like Kik and Google Hangouts to reach out to parents with underage daughters, telling parents "that a 'woman is a woman regardless of her age,' and that women should be sexually subservient and inferior to men,"according to the indictment.

"On these communication platforms," it continues, "Griffin sought to persuade parents to allow him to train their daughters to be sexually submissive. In June of 2020, Griffin advised a mother of 9- and 13-year-old daughters that the mother’s responsibility was to see that her older daughter was 'trained properly.'"

The indictment states that Griffin allegedly lured a mother and her underaged daughter to his Vermont home for the purposes of sexual abuse in July of 2020.

He reportedly provided them with plane ticked from Nevada to Boston, where he picked them up in his Tesla and brought them to his home.

It was there that the underage girl, only 9 years old, was "directed to engage in, and did engage in, unlawful sexual activity."

According to the indictment, Griffin is also alleged to have tried to "entice two other children over the internet to engage in sexual activity," and tried to engage a mother and her 14-year-old daughter in a "virtual training session" where he would instruct them to take off their clothes and touch each other per his wishes.

Griffin had previously child abuse in an April 2010 tweet, writing: "Just did the math. We have, count 'em, FOUR stories about people abusing kids today. 3 up now. If we're society's mirror, you people suck."

The US Attorney's Office in Vermont wrote in a statement that Griffin "sought to persuade parents to allow him to train their daughters to be sexually submissive."

The indictment indicates that Griffin had "sexually trained girls as young as 7 years old" and advised a mother that her 14-year-old daughter "would be a good candidate for such training."

Griffin is currently in custody, and his arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 am. He faces a mandatory minimum jail sentence of 10 years of imprisonment and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment for each count, according to the Department of Justice.

"The indictment includes a notice that states the federal government intends to seek the forfeiture of Griffin’s Ludlow house, his Tesla, a Mercedes, and other property that was used in the commission of the charged offenses."
