BREAKING: Democrat Adam Hamilton unseats GOP Senator Roger Marshall in Kansas
The race marks another Senate seat flip for Democrats.
The race marks another Senate seat flip for Democrats.

Democrat candidate Adam Hamilton has defeated incumbent GOP Senator Roger Marshall in the US Senate race in Kansas.
Decision Desk called the race a little before 11 pm EST with about 90 percent of the vote counted.
Kansas hasn’t elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1932, and Cook Political Report rated the race a toss-up leading up to the election. Trump carried the state by double digits in 2024.
Throughout the campaign, Marshall hit Hamilton for being too woke for Kansas and the Democrat challenger attacked Marshall’s support of President Donald Trump’s policies, including the Iran war.
Hamilton is a minister at a church that has reportedly performed queer weddings and has paid for security for drag story hour for children. He has not held public office previously.
Despite Kansas’ longstanding conservative history, the state is part of the multiple that flipped to the Democrats in this midterm cycle. Although the state has not sent a Democrat to the Senate in 90 years, Governor Laura Kelly, a Democrat, has been in office over the last two terms.
