Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's confidante and companion, has been arrested and faces charges of sex abuse. Epstein, who was a notorious sex trafficker of underage girls, died while awaiting trial in New York last year.
Maxwell was arrested by the FBI in New Hampshire this morning, under charges that she worked with Epstein to abuse girls and traffic them for sex to wealthy men, according to NBC.
She was indicted on six-counts, and is alleged to have assisted Epstein in trafficking girls as young as 14.

"In some instances, Maxwell was present for and participated in the sexual abuse of minor victims," the indictment says.
She is accused of having been part of the sex trafficking ring since 1994. She was a close associate of Epstein's, and it was one of the trafficking victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who first named Maxwell, in a defamation suit in 2015.
Since then, other women have come forward. Giuffre is also the woman who has accused Prince Andrew of involvement with Epstein's trafficking victims.
A British socialite, and daughter of media mogul Robert Maxwell, Maxwell was taken into custody by the FBI in Bedford, New Hampshire this morning at 8:30 a.m. She will appear in federal court later today.
Epstein was arrested last year on charges of sex trafficking, which he is alleged to have been engaged in for many years. The official cause of his death in a New York jail last August has been marked as suicide.
It was the second recorded attempt, and came just one day after the court release of a 2016 deposition in which Epstein would neither deny nor confirm Maxwell's involvement in his operation.
