BREAKING: Mike Pence complains that Joe Biden has been too slow in ‘providing military resources to Ukraine’

He continued, “I mean, they promised 33 Abrahams tanks back in January. They're still waiting on 'em… we're waiting on F-16s to be transferred from somewhere.”

Pence, who officially launched his bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination hours before the town hall, added that he and ex-boss former President Donald Trump “ended what was a ban during the Obama-Biden administration on any military resources at all” to Ukraine and that the Obama-Biden administration was providing “military meals and blankets.”

“We provided javelin missiles — all they were providing was military meals and blankets. We corrected that and Ukraine was better suited to be able to deal with this Russian invasion.”

The former vice president also had some harsh words for his former boss stating, “When Vladimir Putin rolled into Ukraine, the former president called him a genius.”

“I know the difference between a genius and a war criminal, and I know who needs to win in the war in Ukraine and it is the people fighting for their freedom and fighting to restore their national sovereignty in Ukraine,” Pence said. “It is not our war, but freedom is our fight.

Pence also said that “Anybody that thinks Vladimir Putin will stop if he overruns Ukraine has what we say back in Indiana, another thing coming. He has no intention of stopping. He’s made it clear that he wants to recreate that old Soviet sphere of influence in Eastern Europe.”

Last month, Trump said regarding the Russia-Ukraine war during his CNN town hall, “I want everybody to stop dying. They’re dying. Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I’ll have that done in 24 hours.”

Trump told the crowd that he doesn’t “think in terms of winning and losing” regarding the war adding “I think in terms of getting it settled so we stop killing all these people.”

When asked if he supports providing US military aid to Ukraine, the former president responded, “We’re giving away so much equipment, we don’t have ammunition for ourselves right now. We don’t have ammunition for ourselves we’re giving away so much,” adding “I want Europe to put up more money.”

Trump said regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin, “If you say he’s a war criminal, it’s going to be a lot tougher to make a deal to make this thing stopped. If he’s going to be a war criminal, people are going to grab him and execute him, he’s going to fight a lot harder than he’s fighting under the other circumstance.”

The former president called Putin “a smart guy,” but said the Russian leader “made a tremendous mistake.”

“Of course he’s smart. They want you to say he’s a stupid person. He’s not a stupid person and he’s very cunning. Putin made a bad mistake in my opinion.”

Trump continued “His mistake was going in. He would have never gone in if I was president.”

During her recent CNN town hall, former UN Ambassador and current GOP presidential hopeful Nikki Haley said the war was "...bigger than Ukraine,” adding, “This is a war about freedom and it’s one we have to win.

Hely took aim at Governor Ron DeSantis and said, “For them to sit there and say this is just a territorial dispute, that’s just not the case.”

The former Trump administration official also blamed Biden for setting the stage for the Russian invasion of Ukraine by botching the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. “We’ve got chaos everywhere and none of that would’ve happened,” she said, if not for the clumsy – and deadly – departure from the country the US invaded in 2001."
