BREAKING: Project Veritas publishes recordings of CNN president

In one call, CNN President Jeff Zucker said, "This is a president who knows he's losing, who knows he's in trouble, is sick, maybe is on the after-effects of steroids or not. I don't know. But he is acting erratically and desperately, and we need to not normalize that."

Zucker continued saying, "You know, this is what we've come to expect for the last three and a half years, four years, but it clearly is exacerbated by the time that we're in and the issues that he's [Trump] dealing with. I think that we cannot just let it be normalized. He is all over the place and acting erratically, and I think we need to lean into that."

Trump wasn't the only Republican derided by Zucker, he also lamented that CNN has been "too polite" to conservatives like Lindsay Graham.

Marcus Mabry, CNN digital VP of global programming replied, "Yeah, I was just going to say, if you're going to talk about the story, I think it's unavoidable that you have to talk about the naked racism of Tucker Carlson. Because that's really what drove this anti-diversity push, you know, Trump watches Tucker Carlson's show and then reacts. And just as sort of the white supremacy hour they have on Fox News every night, I think it's the—You can't disconnect the two."

OANN's Jack Posobiec said that "Jeff Zucker ordered his staff to consider a false conspiracy theory that Trump is withholding information about imminent terrorist attacks. This stuff is deranged and very dangerous from a purported news outlet on a reporting call."

It was on Tuesday morning that Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe announced the existence of the recordings and said they would released over the coming days. According to O'Keefe, the findings show that CNN is "not really that independent" of a news outlet.

In an email released ahead of the bombshell's debut, Project Veritas claimed that "we have been recording their 9 a.m. rundown calls where they [CNN] reveal their political biases and discuss their intention to destroy the reputations of those who oppose the network's political agenda."

O'Keefe joined Zucker on an ongoing conference call, informing him of his intention to release the tapes of previous phone calls. Zucker, appearing to be unnerved, abruptly noted that there will be a change in procedures and acknowledged that a continuing call will occur later.

The message to Project Veritas supporters declares that insight will be unearthed as to why Zucker has "such a tough time answering questions about journalistic integrity."

Thanking his "brave insiders" for documenting the conversations, O'Keefe cited "lots of little clips" following Tuesday night's footage dump.

CNN Communications responded on Twitter: "Legal experts say this may be a felony. We've referred it to law enforcement."

On Oct. 2, CNN published an its own phone call expose, entitled "Secretly recorded tapes show Melania Trump's frustration at criticism for family separation policy and her bashing of Christmas decorations."

First Lady Melania Trump was secretly recorded in the summer of 2018 "expressing her frustration at being criticized for her husband's policy of separating families who illegally crossed the southern border" while performing her traditional duties.

"They say I'm complicit. I'm the same like him, I support him. I don't say enough I don't do enough where I am," she said in a tape that was played exclusively on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360.

For O'Keefe turnabout is fair play. He responded to the legal threat, stating that he does not take it seriously, and neither do his lawyers.

This is a breaking story and will be updated accordingly.
