A 19-year-old man arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Virginia mother was previously apprehended at the US-Mexico border and released into the country, according to a federal source cited by Fox News reporter Bill Melugin. "I'm told by federal source that the suspect arrested in Fairfax County, VA for the stabbing murder of a mother near a jogging trail in Great Falls, VA is a Salvadoran illegal alien who was caught and released at the border by the Biden admin in El Paso, TX in April 2024," he wrote in a post to X.
Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos was arrested Wednesday in connection with the killing of 42-year-old Carmen Lizet Puch, who was found dead Monday morning near Difficult Run Park in Great Falls, Virginia. Fairfax County police confirmed the arrest and released a photo of the suspect.
Melugin reported that a federal source identified Cedillos-Campos as a Salvadoran national who was apprehended by Border Patrol in El Paso, Texas, in April 2024 and subsequently released into the United States under the Biden administration.
