BREAKING: Trump explains how he plans to end Ukraine war within 24 hours in brand new interview

In the video, Bartiromo asked the former president how he would get the deal done in 24 hours. Trump said, "I know Zelensky very well, and I know Putin very well, even better. And I had a good relationship, very good, with both of them."

"I would tell Zelensky, no more, you got to make a deal. I would tell Putin, if you don't make a deal, we're gonna give them a lot. We're gonna give more than they ever got if we have to," he said. "I will have the deal done in one day, one day."

At a Town Hall with CNN in May, the former president was asked what country he preferred to win the war in Ukraine. He answered that he doesn't "think in terms of winning and losing" but "in terms of getting it settled so we stop killing all these people..." When asked to clarify Trump said, "I want everybody to stop dying."

Former President Trump first claimed that he could end the Ukraine war in 24 hours back in February, while also insisting that Putin would not have invaded if he was the US president. He said at the time "I would literally start calling, not from the day I took over, but from the night I won."

"I know exactly what I'd say; I'd tell one guy this and I'd tell one guy that, and I'd say 'You better make a deal.' We would have a deal made in 24 hours," Trump concluded.

He had previously noted that "we must end this ridiculous war and demand peace in Ukraine now before it gets worse." A poll at the time showed that 62 percent of Americans agreed that Putin would not have invaded if Trump was the US President.

The Biden administration has declared its intention to continue supporting Ukraine in its conflict for long into the future. "Today, the members of the G7 are launching a joint declaration of support for Ukraine and to make it clear that our support will last long into the future. This starts the process by which each of our nations, and any other nation who wishes to participate, will negotiate long-term bilateral security commitments with and to Ukraine," President Biden said at the G7 summit earlier this month.
