President Donald Trump will hold back-to-back rallies in Iowa and Kansas on Sunday after he had moved to cancel them earlier this week, according to new reporting.
White House correspondent for NewsNation Kellie Meyer reported, "President Trump will now hold his rallies in Kansas and Iowa after abruptly canceling them on Thursday. Per a source familiar in addition to now holding the 20 tele-rallies, he will hold back-to-back rallies in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday."
She was told the rallies “were rearranged for scheduling purposes to accommodate dozens of additional tele-rallies that were recently added to the President’s schedule.”
The Republican National Committee had initially said that Trump would do telerallies instead to reach more voters and that the president would hold a “72-hour sprint” of rallies by phone rather than by going in person.
The move from Trump to initially cancel the rallies led to an interaction on Thursday where a reporter from Reuters questioned the president’s health.
Trump replied, “Oh, you’re sick to ask that question. You are sick.”
“You’ve been following me for two weeks. I feel perfect. You are disgusting,” he added. “Put yourself in shape. You look like hell.”
As of Thursday, Trump has done 25 rallies during the month of October. The sprint of rallies come ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, where the GOP faces an uphill battle to keep the majority in Congress.
