A source familiar with Trump’s plans told Fox News that the former president plans to travel to the Ohio town on Wednesday, and will meet with members of the community.

View on XThe visit comes after the derailment of a Norfolk Southern train earlier this month, which was carrying hazardous materials like vinyl chloride, a chemical used to make PVC plastics. As a result of the derailment, the chemical began to leak from the tanker cars, and it was decided a controlled burn of the chemicals was the best course of action to prevent an explosion.

Despite officials stating that residents were safe to return, people expressed concerns over dead animals and fish appearing in the area, as well as a chemical smell in the air. On Friday, DeWine confirmed that a portion of the Sulphur Run was "severely contaminated," as videos appeared of a rainbow sheen on the water, including a video posted to Twitter by Ohio Sen. JD Vance.
