Daily Beast Editor-at-Large Molly Jong-Fast allegedly knew of sexually explicit messages John Weaver sent to young men
Political consultant Ryan Girdusky claimed Sunday that Daily Beast editor-at-large Molly Jong-Fast, allegedly knew about the sexually explicit messages that Lincoln Project co-founder John Weaver, had been sending to almost a dozen young men.
Political consultant Ryan Girdusky claimed in a tweet Sunday that Daily Beast editor-at-large Molly Jong-Fast, allegedly knew about the sexually explicit messages that Lincoln Project co-founder John Weaver, had been sending to almost a dozen young men, in which he offered them jobs in exchange for sexual favors.
Girdusky said, “According to several mutual friends, [Molly Jong-Fast] heard I had this story back in the early summer. And that it was circulating several outlets.” Girdusky is also the conservative activist who first broke the story of the Weaver scandal.
Weaver has resigned from the "Never Trump" super PAC earlier this month after allegations surfaced that he sent sexually explicit messages and pictures to 30 men. It was also alleged that Weaver flew some of the men to him for massages, offered jobs in exchange for sex and asked them about their genitals and sexual history.
GOP strategist Arthur Schwartz tweeted, “Molly Jong-Fast kept her mouth shut after she learned that one of her Lincoln Project sexual predator pals was targeting young boys. No one wants to hear from her (besides law enforcement).”
According to the alleged victims Weaver typically initiated communication through direct messages on Twitter but later conversation would include phone calls.
Most of the complainants believe that Weaver was attempting to "groom" them. According to the NSPCC "grooming," is when "someone builds a relationship, trust and emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate, exploit and abuse them."
According to The New York Times on Sunday, 21 individual accusers have come forward alleging that Republican strategist and co-founder of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project organization, John Weaver, sent them sexually provocative messages,
In response, the Lincoln Project released a statement Sunday and said that Weaver “led a secret life that was built on a foundation of deception at every level,” and calling him “a predator, a liar, and an abuser.”
