DeSantis launches new campaign ‘reboot’ in attempt to catch Trump in polls: report

Amid the stagnating polls and financial troubles in the campaign, an official told NBC News that DeSantis is "ready to prove [the establishment] wrong again." Generra Peck told people to "[b]uckle up" for things ahead.

Speaking to Jack Posobiec about the "reboot" on Friday, pollster Richard Baris said "It's the third reboot in just under eight weeks, all campaigns reboot, but they don't reboot every two or three weeks. So the real question is, is this really a reboot? Because we've heard this before."

DeSantis recently fired around a dozen staffers and Peck has been under pressure to perform. All the while, campaign financing has been low.

Reportedly, 70 percent of donors to his campaign have already given the maximum amount that can be donated. 15 percent of the donors are smaller and have given less than $200.

Former President Donald Trump as well as Vivek Ramaswamy, on the other hand, have brought in over half their financing from smaller donors.

To add to the troubles, morale on the DeSantis campaign is reportedly "downright low," according to a source that spoke to NBC News. They said the "entire campaign is on the brink."

Moving forward, DeSantis is planning on doing more with interviews and public events with "corporate media" outlets. This week he went on CNN to do an exclusive interview with Jake Tapper.

One can also expect fewer staged events and more on the ground and intimate activities with voters.

"All DeSantis needs to drive news and win this primary is a mic and a crowd." Peck told NBC. “Ron DeSantis has never been the favorite or the darling of the establishment, and he has won because of it every time."

The first upcoming GOP primary debate will be held on Aug. 23 and will be play as a factor for DeSantis and all other candidates to display what they will bring to the table as the Republican nominee.
