View on XAccording to Brian Stelter, CNN CEO Chris Licht sent a memo to staff on Monday outlining the situation.
"I sat down with Don and had a frank and meaningful conversation," Licht said. "He has agreed to participate in formal training, as well as continuing to listen and learn. We take this situation very seriously."
"It is important to me that CNN balances accountability with a fostering a culture in which people can own, learn and grow from their mistakes," Licht continued, revealing that, "to that end, Don will return to CNN This Morning on Wednesday."

View on XLemon made his remarks on Thursday's episode of the show when the conversation turned to age in politics.
"Nikki Haley isn't in her prime, sorry," Lemon said. "When a woman is considered to be in her prime in her 20s, and 30s, and maybe 40s."
"Prime for what?" cohost Poppy Harlow replied.
"It depends," he continued. "If you Google 'when is a woman in her prime,' it will say 20s, 30s, and 40s. I don't– I'm not saying I agree with that, so I think she has to be careful about saying that politicians aren't in their prime and need to be."
Lemon was lambasted by Harlow, who pushed back against his definition of "prime." He later apologized via Twitter.

View on X"The reference I made to a woman’s 'prime' this morning was inartful and irrelevant," he said, "as colleagues and loved ones have pointed out, and I regret it. A woman’s age doesn't define her either personally or professionally. I have countless women in my life who prove that every day."
Lemon's comments were in response to Haley, who had appeared on Fox & Friends on Thursday addressing the issue of age in politics.
"When people send someone to Washington, they need to know they're at the top of their game," she said. "That's why I think those competency tests are important. We can't have someone like Joe Biden, who's asleep at the wheel, and have China sitting there threatening us and us wondering if he actually knows what's going on."
