The suspect in the Eden Prairie High School shooting has been released on bond just two days after his arrest, after two teenagers were shot near the high school's homecoming football game earlier this month. The shooting has become the latest flashpoint over crime and lax bail laws.
Adam Abdihakeem Adam, 18, posted bond and was released over the weekend, Hennepin County records showed. Authorities have said that he shot two teenagers at the Eden Prairie High School during their homecoming football game, which led to the evacuation of the arena and the cancellation of the homecoming dance that weekend. He was later taken into custody on Thursday, October 8, but then released on Saturday, October 10 around 6:40pm.
The jail roster shows that Adam posted a $100,000 bond, or a cash bond of $10,000. He is set to appear in court on Monday at 1:30 pm local time, per Fox 9. Footage of the shooting, which has been linked to Somali gangs in the region, showed two cars entering a parking lot before the shooting took place, according to jail records. A fight broke out near the vehicles.

The Trump administration's Rapid Response page said in response to the release, "Adam Abdihakeem Adam was arrested for shooting up a Minnesota suburban high school football game. Police believe the shooting to be connected to rival Somali gangs. A Radical Left judge immediately granted him a no-condition bail."

He also abandoned his phone and changed his phone number after the shooting took place. Police officers executed a search warrant at his home and found clothes from Adams that matched the description of the clothes that the shooter was wearing in the shooting video.
