Facebook permanently bans conservative children’s book company

The company publishes books about historical and present-day figures who have done something significant to advance the cause of liberty in the United States and elsewhere. They have published books to date about Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Sowell, Frederic Bastiat, Robert Heinlein, Ron Paul and others.

According to Fox Business, the business page was initially taken down on Dec. 23 2021. The people at Heroes of Liberty instantly appealed the decision. The appeal was denied days later, and the account continues to be disabled up to the present moment.

Bethany Mandel, a board member and editor for the company, told them during an interview on Sunday:

"We began investing in Facebook four months before we launched our first book," We invested most of our marketing budget on the platform, and now our budget (the money we’ve already spent), as well as our assets and data are gone."

"Marketing-wise we are back in square one, financially it's even more challenging," Mandel said.

Heroes for Liberty also spoke against the Facebook ban.

"We are not in politics, we are in the business of creating beautiful stories about great people that will entertain children and give them life lessons," Mandel said.

"To cancel children's books because they celebrate American values that 90 percent of Americans believe in isn’t even anti-conservative bias, it's anti-American. Pure madness," she went on.

"The question is: is a children's biography of Ronald Reagan no longer permissible on Facebook? We don’t know. But apparently promoting one may well kill a business."

Facebook has drawn widespread criticism over the past several years for what has been called a clear bias against conservative or libertarian causes; they have been famously caught suppressing posts regarding the laptop that belonged to Hunter Biden, for example.

Update: Following tremendous blowback to the decision to ban Heroes of Liberty, Facebook's parent company Meta, restored the account.
