Far-left Philly DA Larry Krasner says accused anti-white cop killer Eric Lewis was acquitted of previous murder charges due to police misconduct during investigation

Per Fox News’ CB Cotton, the press conference had been scheduled to take place at 11 am, and in its place, a news release was issued. Krasner had been set to talk about Eric Lewis, who has been charged in the weekend ambush shooting of two police officers. Lewis, a city employee, has been charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with an ambush shooting that took place over the weekend. Officer Shane Seiber was killed in the shooting. Lewis allegedly told authorities that he shot the two cops because they were white.

The press release stated that Krasner’s office was “aware of several reports of 911 calls and other potential complaints of violence (including domestic violence) involving this defendant.” Krasner said Lewis had been charged in 2019 with murder, aggravated assault, and other offenses in relation to a “road rage” double shooting.

Krasner said in a video alongside the press release that Lewis had been out of custody “because a balanced, good, and fair judge did what he had to do. Because two absolutely excellent prosecutors did everything humanly possible with a case and an investigation that was so deeply flawed, it was not just full of errors and mistakes—very serious ones, but some of the conduct involving one police officer and one detective is arguably criminal.”

Per a report from NBC 10 Philadelphia, Lewis had been arrested in 2020 in connection with the August 2019 fatal shooting in West Philadelphia of 32-year-old Christopher Williams. Williams had been driving near Fallon Street and Wyalusing Avenue on August 31 of that year and encountered a Nissan SUV allegedly blocking the street, an affidavit obtained by the outlet stated.

Investigators said an argument broke out between Williams and the occupants of the SUV. A man reportedly got out of the SUV, pulled out a handgun, and opened fire, striking Williams multiple times. He died at a hospital. Lewis was later identified in a photo lineup by a witness as the gunman, leading to his November 2020 arrest.

Speaking with the outlet, Krasner claimed that the judge had been “forced” to find Lewis not guilty. He said that Lewis was acquitted after a judge found instances of misconduct in the case, including issues with testimony from a former police officer, who was reportedly in a relationship with Lewis’ sister.

Krasner said, “We were dealing with a guilty man.”

He said of the misconduct in the case, “One of them did not do a variety of things that needed to get done and misled people about whether they were done, filled out law enforcement paperwork falsely, stating that certain things had been done and then tried to blame others.” He claimed that the testifying officer, former Philadelphia Police Officer Naeem Crawley, claimed to have received information identifying a person named “Spice” as the person who killed Williams, which Krasner claimed never existed. Crawley was later fired over his conduct.

"This officer later admitted to a lawyer that he made it all up and that he had lied to our prosecutor," Krasner said. "This is how a good case gets sunk."

Krasner added in the press release, “Immediately following the verdict, the judge notified all counsel that due to the egregious and troubling conduct by sworn Philadelphia police personnel in investigating the case, he would be writing to the Philadelphia Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division for review and disciplinary consideration. He specifically noted that the prosecutors had done all they could with the flawed investigation. We believe this is the only instance in this distinguished judge’s career of his engaging Internal Affairs to address police misconduct; we understand the judge’s family and personal history connect to working as sworn law enforcement.”
