“That’s my daughter, and no one wants to do nothing about it. Suspend the boy for one day for improper touching, and I don’t think that’s right … Somebody needs to look into the matter and do something.”
A visibly emotional father broke down on the mic when he addressed his local Virginia school board about his 13-year-old daughter's sexual assault, after the school only suspended the alleged attacker one day "for improper touching."
The video featuring concerned father Jeffery Darr is from Wednesday's meeting with the Prince William County School Board where the parent demanded to know why more isn't being done after the suspect was handed a one-day suspension.

A long and uncomfortable pause followed. "Does anyone have any answers, how the process works?" asked Darr of a still silent school board.
"Mr. Darr, we typically don't go and have a back-and-forth here, but we're happy to take your comments by email or appointment and work with you on that," answered Babur Lateef, the chairperson of the school board.
Darr pressed the point, and the school board members continued to tell him they want to discuss it at another time. Darr wasn't having any of it, however.
"I want the public to know, that's why I've come here," he responded.
"We won't be answering you, but you can certainly keep asking," Lateef replied. This is when Darr started to visibly break down emotionally:
"I want to know the school’s definition of sexual assault, because my daughter was told … that if it’s above the clothes, it’s not sexual assault. That’s the way the county does the kids here? That's messed up," said Darr, choking up and having difficulty speaking. "That's my daughter," he said, pointing to where she was sitting. "And no one wants to do nothing about it. Suspend the boy for one day for improper touching? I don't think that's right," he continued.
"Somebody needs to look into the matter and do something, because there's more kids out there that y'all are not doing and letting stuff slide ... the only ones it's hurting is the kids," the father declared, pressing school officials about the administration's procedure for sexual assault cases.
A similar high-profile incident occurred in Loudoun Country, where there was an attempt to cover up a sexual assault in a school bathroom. The cross-dressing student responsible for the assault, however, was eventually convicted.
