FBI Director Kash Patel touted the Trump administration’s tough-on-crime policies as the “largest reduction in violent crime in United States history,” in a social-media post Wednesday.

The data compared the final 21 months of the Biden administration and the first 21 months of President Donald Trump’s second term.
“When President Trump first took office, we faced one of the highest threat environments in American history. This FBI delivered,” Patel wrote on X.
“This is what happens with a President who backs the blue, an Attorney General who relentlessly prosecutes criminals, and good cops all over the country getting the job done,” he added.
The most recent raw data dropped on Oct. 15 as part of the FBI’s Unified Crime Report, available on the Crime Data Explorer website.
Patel’s announcement also comes as the administration seeks to emphasize its successes and fulfilled campaign promises ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm election.
Patel touted similar stats in a September congressional appearance at the Senate Judiciary Committee’s annual FBI oversight hearing, Fox News reported.
Patel also highlighted some of the FBI’s major achievements on his watch in a Monday X post that said non-fatal violent crime had fallen by 25 percent, including a 31 percent reduction in aggravated assaults, a 25 percent reduction in burglary or trespassing, and a 30 percent decrease in motor vehicle thefts.

“Our people are crushing it. Our partnerships are stronger than ever. And this Bureau is delivering results at an unprecedented pace,” he said.
