Conservative MP Cheryl Gallant had strong criticism for the sitting Liberal government during Wednesday's meeting of the National Defence Committee, asking why a convicted serial killer gets better treatment from the military than a soldier who isn't vaccinated.

Russell Williams is currently serving two life sentences in prison after having been convicted with sexually assaulting and murdering Jessica Lloyd and Marie Comeau.
He also has a long history of prior arrests for breaking and entering, forcible confinement, and other sexual assault crimes, the True North reports.
"Even Russell Williams was afforded his pension, so why are soldiers who’ve served honourably for decades being treated worse than a convicted serial rapist and murderer when it comes to refusing a new vaccine?" asks Gallant of the committee.
Williams, in fact, despite being currently incarcerated, receives a military pension to this day, which is worth around $60,000 per year. Soldiers who have refused to take the vaccine, on the other hand, have been summarily booted from the military and denied any further military benefits.
Gallant's question was taken by Defence Minister Anita Anand, simply said that "The Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian government believe in the importance of vaccines as they are recommended by our public health experts. To date 98% of the Canadian Armed Forces have been vaccinated."
Minister Anand then referred the question elsewhere without further explanation.
