Girl bullied out of school for saying ‘sex exists’ gains support from JK Rowling

According to a teacher that works for the school, a member of the House of Lords had visited the Stonewall Diversity Champion private girls’ school to talk about transphobia in parliament. "She is a well known LGBTQ speaker and activist with views on transgender issues not dissimilar to those of Mermaids and Stonewall," he wrote for Transgender Trend.

Speaking with The Times, the female student said: "The language she was using was implying critical theory took precedence over biological reality in defining women."

"When I questioned that," she added, "she said it wasn’t an issue of semantics. She said trans people don't have basic human rights in this country. Afterwards I spoke to her and said I'm sorry if I came across as rude."

The student said that the two had parted amicably, but upon returning to the sixth form, she was confronted by around 60 female students who swore, screamed, and spat at her.

She reportedly escaped the berating, collapsing and unable to breathe properly after the verbal attack.

According to The Times, teachers had initially expressed support for the student, but withdrew it after other students had accused her of transphobia.

She returned to school a few times, but was told he would be moved to the library if she continued to express provocative thoughts in lessons.

The girl experienced bullying and accusations of transphobia from other students throughout the school, and spent break times and lunchtimes in the library.

The student left the school in December, and has since resumed her studies at home, The Times reported.

The girl said she would have completed her A-levels at the school had it not been for October incident. "It made me think I was mad," she said. "Otherwise how could people turn on me so bitterly?"

According to the teacher, the student was labeled as a "heretic" due to the incident, stating that she was disagreeing with an "ideology."

"It was probably somewhat naive of her not to realise that this is indeed 'an ideology' and one with which you’re simply not allowed to disagree, however respectfully," the teacher wrote.

"To question its basic tenets is simply heresy and heretics in one way or another need to be exposed, attacked and gotten rid of. Even if they are such notable and seemingly untouchable figures as JK Rowling."

In response to the story, author JK Rowling, who herself has faced cancellation due to stating that biological sex is real, and expressing concerns with biological men being in women's spaces, called the situation "utterly shameful."

"Utterly shameful. Add this to the tottering pile of evidence that people in education and academia who're supposed to have a duty of care towards the young have succumbed to an outbreak of quasi-religious fanaticism. The girl's crime? Saying 'sex exists.'"

The teacher noted that the school, at one point in time, had invited Christian and other religious speakers "to address moral and ethical issues and to provide food for thought and contemplation." These would usually be followed by a question and answer period "during which the students could share their own feelings and opinions on the issues, and even disagree if they wanted to. Nobody for instance is expected these days to accept without question the basic tenets of the Christian or other faiths."

"It was the similarity of the current transgender ideology to the fundamentalism that I became enmeshed in, in the past, that first alerted me to the danger of what has been going on in our schools over the last few years," he wrote.

The teacher said that a group of sixth form students had arrived late and "in an animated state," saying that "There had been, I learned, some major spat in the 6th form centre which they just 'had' to stay behind to witness."

He said that "It involved a significant group of girls verbally 'laying into' one particular 18 yr old."

"It was the whispered and frequent use of the terms transphobe and transphobic during that after school activity that alerted me to the depressing fact that these girls were going along with the narrative that our heretic was, as far as they were concerned, indeed a heretic – and that she was thoroughly deserving of the roasting that she had just received before caving in and running off in a panicked and hyperventilating state," the teacher wrote.

He stated that "It is quite chilling to witness first hand how this ideology (and by ideology I mean 'collectivised false or inauthentic selfhood') operates and grows."
