Here are some of the worst criminals Trump deported in just one week

According to a report by the Daily Mail which cited numbers from a senior official in the Trump administration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended 445 illegal immigrants with criminal records on Friday alone. Another 148 individuals without criminal records were also taken into custody for deportation. In addition, ICE issued 449 detainers, conducted 468 removals or repatriations, and made 15 gang-related arrests.

The operation included the capture of several individuals with severe criminal histories. Among them was Cesar Augusto Polanco, a 59-year-old Dominican Republic national who was convicted of murder and had been living freely in Boston. Another high-profile arrest involved Nestor Jose Mendoza-Garcia, a Venezuelan national in San Antonio, Texas. Identified as a member of the Tren de Aragua gang, Mendoza-Garcia was found in possession of a handgun tied to an unsolved murder from November. Despite being arrested under the Biden administration in October 2023, he had been released with a notice to appear in court and remained in the US for over a year before being apprehended.

ICE also arrested El Salvadoran citizen Jose Tito Reyes, who had a prior conviction for forcible touching, for which he served 90 days in prison and three years of probation. In Chicago, a city with significant migrant influxes and policies that hinder cooperation with federal immigration authorities, Mexican national Edgar Rivas-Rodriguez was detained. He had a prior conviction for methamphetamine possession and fleeing the scene of an accident causing injury.

In Buffalo, New York, authorities detained Julio Cesar Diaz Martinez, a known sex trafficker. During the arrest, ICE also rescued a female Dominican national who was being victimized by the suspect.

One of the most widely circulated arrests was that of a Haitian gang member who had 17 recent convictions, according to Fox News. The unnamed Haitian national was seen on video shouting “F**k Trump, Biden forever!” as ICE officers detained him. The man insisted that he “ain’t going back to Haiti” and added, “Thank Obama for everything he did for me, bro,” referring to the differences in immigration policy between Obama and Biden’s administrations compared to the Trump administration.

Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, announced Thursday that 1,300 migrants had been arrested at the time and that “over 1,000 of them were criminals.” Homan also criticized sanctuary cities for their policies which allow criminally convicted illegal immigrants to jeopardize public safety by letting them walk free without notifying federal immigration authorities.

“I don't care if Republican or Democrat, Independent, why not let law enforcement go into a county jail, taxpayer county jail, to arrest the guy that you locked in a jail cell so obviously, the public safety threat that will solve a lot of this problem,” Homan said.

Since taking office last Monday, President Trump has declared a national emergency regarding the southern border crisis. On Thursday, he increased the total number of active forces along the southern border by an additional 1,500. These troops have been tasked with constructing barriers and providing air support for deportation operations. US military aircraft have also begun facilitating deportation flights, including two large flights to Guatemala.
