John Fetterman says Bob Menendez’s ‘sinister and serious’ conduct tops any lies by George Santos

While appearing on ABC's The View, Fetterman specifically called out Democrat Senator Bob Menendez who he accused of serving the people of Egypt, not New Jersey. Menendez was federally indicted on bribery charges in September.

"What's your reaction to the expulsion?" asked Joy Behar.

"I'm not surprised," Fetterman said. "But to me, I think the more important picture is that we have a colleague in the Senate that has actually done much more sinister and serious kinds of things. Senator Menendez. He needs to go."

"If you are going to expel Santos, how can you allow to somebody like Menendez to remain in the Senate?" Fetterman questioned.

The Philadelphia Senator proceeded to claim that Santos' history of lies "were almost, you know, funny" like he "landed on the moon and that kind of stuff." Whereas Sen. Menendez, according to Fetterman, "is really a Senator for Egypt."

"So, I really think he needs to go and especially it's kind of strange that if Santos is not allowed to remain in the House, you know, someone like that is," Fetterman told The View hosts.

Speaking about Menendez, Fetterman was asked by one of the hosts: "Are you though uncomfortable with the fact that there hasn't been an adjudication that while he's been charged, there hasn't been a conviction?"

"He has the right to have his day in court and all that, but he doesn't have the right to have those kind of votes and things that," said Fetterman. "That's not a right and I think we need to make that kind of decision to send him out."

Menendez was federally indicted on bribery charges in September, along with his wife, Nadine Arslanian Menendez.

The pair were accused of receiving bribes in the form of "cash, gold, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low-or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle, and other things of value," in exchange for the Senator exerting influence that benefited Egypt, as well as three local associates and businessmen.

Other Democrat politicians have called for Menendez to step down in addition to Fetterman.

As Fetterman questions why no action has been taken to expel Sen. Menendez, the House of Representatives voted to expel Republican Rep. George Santos by a vote of 311 to 114 on Friday.

The New York congressman's ouster reduces the GOP's majority in the House by one seat.
