“This is the most depressed, suicidal, alcohol addicted, drug addicted generation in American history. They are looking for purpose and meaning,” Kirk told Ari Hoffman.
Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk joined The Post Millennial's Ari Hoffman to discuss why the organization's traditional conservative values attract today's youth.
At TPUSA's America Fest conference in Phoenix, Arizona last week, Kirk explained that today's youth in America long for traditional conservative values as a means to find a sense of purpose in life. Getting married, starting families, and building a foundation centered around God are all part of TPUSA's message.

"This is the most depressed, suicidal, alcohol addicted, drug addicted generation in American history. They are looking for purpose and meaning. And when they start to see an organization articulate eternal truths combined with the laws of nature (God) and present day realities, they get really attracted to that," Kirk said. "It's the exact opposite of what the media will tell you."
"The media is going to ignore the fact that we have ten thousand students in Phoenix, Arizona right before Christmas break wanting to hear about getting married and having children," Kirk continued. "They would much rather talk about AOC protesting climate change or getting high on weed. There's something deeper happening here and it's really exciting."

Hoffman noted that Turning Point USA's pro-family message is contrary to the Democrat platform, the ideals of which ultimately hurt minority communities. Kirk explained that the corporatist platform, women trying to climb the ladder instead of settling down and starting families, is at fault for creating the most unfulfilled generation of women in American history.
"It's not just the Democrat platform, it's the corporatist platform," Kirk said. "It's the 'go work for some soul-less corporation and somehow you're going to be happy at the end of it.' And we have a bunch of angry 32-year-old women, alot of which who live in Seattle," he said, taking a dig at Hoffman's home town, "...and all of a sudden they realize their biological clock is ticking and they're super angry at themselves and at life."
"Angry women make really obedient leftists. And that's what we're seeing," Kirk added, host of The Charlie Kirk Show.
As an Orthodox Jew, Ari Hoffman, host of the Ari Hoffman Show on Conservative Talk Radio 570 KVI, mentioned that he observes the Sabbath which captured Kirk's attention and led them to discuss the importance of the Sabbath and why it's God's gift to His people.
"Kids today are so glued to their phones, social media, and technology," Hoffman said.
"I turn my phone off for 25 hours every week, from Friday night to Saturday night," Kirk responded. "It's amazing."
"You get to pray, read things that are eternal, things that don't change. That's what wisdom is. The knowledge of things that don't change. I just love the release of it and any sort of anxiety I feel for it, God commands it," Kirk explained. "I started doing it this year, it's been a gift."
Turning Point USA is the world's largest conservative youth organization with a presence on over 2,500 campuses nationwide.
According to their website, TPUSA plays offense with a sense of urgency to win America's culture war. Their mission is to build the most organized, active, and powerful conservative grassroots activist network on high school and college campuses across the country.
