Los Angeles Councilman harassed by woke mob of homeless justice warriors following encampment cleanup

Although the majority of people experiencing homelessness in the park accepted alternative housing offered to them by Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, the kind gesture was seen as inhumane to the woke mob.

Councilman O’Farrell was harassed by a group of homeless activists during the grand re-opening of Echo Park Lake, which cost the city more than $1 million to repair, clean, and renovate after the park was destroyed by nearly 200 camp dwellers. "Shame on Mitch," demonstrators chanted.

"This is going to be your legacy, Mitch," an activist called out as the group swarmed O’Farrell forcing him to retreat to safety.

According to Daily Wire, the protest group was comprised of individuals with People’s City Council – Los Angeles, an alliance of L.A.’s Black Lives Matter’s chapter .

The activists were allegedly furious after rumors circled that Councilman O’Farrell ordered LAPD to sweep the area back in March which caused clashes between police officers and protesters who showed up trying to prevent the sweep.

People’s City Council Los Angeles threatened O’Farrell in a tweet and questioned why he thought he had the audacity to "show his face in public."

"Mitch thought he could show his face in public and not have to hear from the people," the tweet said. "Well, @MitchOFarrell and his staff got chased out of the park. This is what it’s going to be like, Mitch! #MitchWatch #ResignMitch."

Another tweet from People’s City Council Los Angeles showcased the new park rules, including a curfew that will be enforced.

According to Chief Park Ranger Joe Losorelli, authorities will sweep the park nightly starting at 10:30 pm and ending at 5:00 am, Daily Wire reports.

"Anybody that’s in the park will be removed from the park, either by their own volition, or if when we ask them to leave and they don’t, they’ll be subject to arrest and or citation," he said.

A group called "Street Watch LA," an affiliate of the Democratic Socialists of America, likened the parks renovation to a prison.

Earlier this month, O’Farrell expressed his concerns involving Echo Park Lake and said the park was "unsafe for everyone."

"For over a year, my team worked tirelessly to provide resources, services and ultimately transitional housing to people experiencing homelessness at Echo Park Lake," O’Farrell said.

"As time went on, conditions at the park became increasingly unsafe for everyone — park visitors and park dwellers. Echo Park Lake is a shared public space, and unhoused people were existing in inhumane conditions — which is why every single person experiencing homelessness in the park was offered transitional housing and services," O’Farrell added.
