Milwaukee man arrested after allegedly hitting Gaige Grosskreutz with car, fleeing scene: report
During the 2021 trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, Grosskreutz testified that he pointed a firearm at Rittenhouse before the then-17-year-old shot him in the arm.
The Kenosha County Eye has revealed that a man struck during a hit-and-run earlier this month is believed to be Gaige Grosskreutz, the man who was injured by Kyle Rittenhouse during the 2020 BLM riots in Kenosha and later filed a lawsuit against Rittenhouse after he was acquitted by a jury.
According to Fox 6, on September 2, a man identified as 30-year-old Marvin Thomas allegedly cut through the intersection of Brady and Warren around 9 pm, hitting a 30-year-old pedestrian while crossing the street.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with a lacerated liver, broken ribs, and a broken wrist.
Speaking with WISN, the man, who asked not to be identified and was wearing a hat and sunglasses, said "I went on top of the hood, and then was dragged under and stuck underneath the vehicle for a good 20 feet."
Court documents displayed by WISN show the victim was referred to as "PP."
A GoFundMe was set up by the victim, who identified himself as "Paul Prediger," the name now taken by Grosskreutz.
In 2022, Grosskreutz filed a petition to get his name changed, citing harassment.
According to WISN, Thomas has been charged with felony hit-and-run causing great bodily harm, and felony knowingly operating a motor vehicle while license is revoked, causing great bodily harm.
When police arrived at the address listed for the plate on the vehicle, Thomas told officers that he was the driver, and that he was "sorry." Thomas also admitted to knowing he did not have a valid license.
During the 2021 trial of Rittenhouse, Grosskreutz testified that he pointed a firearm at Rittenhouse before the then-17-year-old shot in the arm. He was one of three men who Rittenhouse shot that night, though the other two died from their injuries. Rittenhouse was acquitted of all charges and determined to have acted in self-defense.
