Minnesota mom faces torture charges for stealing son’s blood, forcing siblings to dispose of it
The boy’s siblings often saw their mother taking his blood, which she would empty into a cup, and then instruct one of them to “flush the blood down the toilet.”
A mother in Minnesota is facing child torture charges after she allegedly stole her son's blood in order to treat her two other children for medical conditions they didn't have.
Jorden Nicole Borders, 32, was charged on Wednesday with three counts of child torture and three counts of stalking in the alleged abuse of her three children: an 8-year-old girl, a 9-year-old boy, and an 11-year-old boy, according to a report from Fox 9.

The first signs of worry came after the 9-year-old boy was at the Children's hospital being monitored because his hemoglobin numbers kept unexpectedly dropping. An investigation was launched back in May after the boy was monitored in the hospital.
Borders claimed that the hospital was taking too much blood, but the other children told investigators that they often saw her taking blood from their brother. They claimed that she would empty some of his blood into a cup and then instruct one of them to "flush the blood down the toilet." This would allegedly happen before doctor's visits.
The 9-year-old told investigators that his mother "kept drawing my blood," and would then tell him "don’t tell anyone." He described how it made his body feel "sick-sleepy."
It is alleged that Borders had also self-diagnosed her two other children with Osteogenesis imperfecta, colloquially known as brittle bone disease, forcing them to wear neck braces and casts made with materials that she stole from doctors.
A search warrant of their home executed in July found casting materials and syringes.
In an interview with investigators on November 21, the three children described the horrific living situation and the abuse that they faced every day.
Their mother would regularly choke them, beat them, throw objects at them, and force them to stand outside in the cold.
"I was never safe," the 9-year-old boy said as he described having to sleep on the floor and sneak food into his room.
He was also confined to a wheelchair whenever their father was home, in order to maintain the lies Borders had fed him.
Following the interviews with the children, police went to the family home in order to arrest Borders, but were unable to find her. As of Wednesday night, Borders was not in custody.
