MSNBC viewers freak out after host reports on bipartisan WSJ poll showing Trump and Biden tied at 46% nationwide

Social media pundits appeared to be upset that the poll, which showed that the majority of Americans, including the majority of Democrats, believe that Joe Biden is too old to seek another term as president. It also stated that Trump is ahead by 60 percent among Republican voters.

The poll also revealed that “Biden is tied with former President Donald Trump in a potential rematch of the 2020 election, with each holding 46% support in a head-to-head test.”

Kornacki posted a thread on the platform in response to Federal Election Commission filings that show that the pollster Fabrizio Lee, who was “responsible" for the poll, had also been paid by the Trump campaign.

He stated that the claim is “incomplete & misleading” because the tweet with the filings “…conveniently does **not** mention that the WSJ poll is jointly conducted by both a GOP firm -- Fabrizio Lee and a Dem firm, GBAO, and that GBAO has made millions from major Dem candidates and committees.”

Kornacki showcased many of the Democratic clients that GBAO represented, including Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman and far-left organizations such as SEIU, Planned Parenthood and Jstreet. “GBAO took in more than $2 million in the '22 election cycle from Dem Party campaign committees.”

He added, “And here, per the FEC's database, is a record of disbursements from Democratic candidates and committees to GBAO -- they include, the DSCC, the DCCC and the DNC, among many others”

“In other words, the claim that the WSJ poll is the sinister handiwork of a GOP firm and can therefore be dismissed on those grounds is false,” the NBC correspondent continued. “It is the bipartisan product of two partisan firms that each have vested interests in their national party's success.”

“The idea is that this produces a quality poll - basically one partisan pollster acts as a check on the other. You can agree or disagree with this concept. But the post that I am responding to completely and totally ignores that there is a major Dem firm involved here too.”

“Further, what exactly would the conspiracy here be? The poll results - a large Trump GOP primary lead - are in line with other recent polls, like the CNN one released today. And a close Trump/Biden match-up has been seen in multiple polls.”

Kornacki noted, “And given how close '16 and '20 were (a swing of ~75,000 votes across a few states would have elected Clinton and about ~42,000 would have re-elected Trump), it seems odd to assume a poll showing yet another close race must be a conspiracy.”

He concluded the thread by responding to a commentator, “I'd just point out that the Dem firm has done work for and been paid by the DNC, which can certainly be viewed as an arm of the Biden re-election campaign.”

Fabrizio and Democratic pollster John Anzalone also conducted another devastating Wall Street Journal poll showing that Democratic candidates “will be less likely to count on support from the nation’s growing number of Hispanic voters in future elections.”
