House GOP members are set to have a closed-door discussion on Thursday afternoon, coming after the party nominated Steve Scalise for the House Speaker position. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed disdain for this meeting, stating that this discussion should be held on the House floor, urging her colleagues to "stop dragging it out."
"Let’s do this on the House floor instead of behind closed doors," Greene wrote. "Stop dragging it out."

Greene included a screenshot of an email, stating that a GOP Member-Only Discussion would be occurring at 12:15 pm on Thursday in a Capitol Building conference room.
The email stressed that this was a members-only meeting, and stated that "phones will be checked at the door."
Shortly after Scalise’s nomination on Wednesday, Greene stated that she would be voting for Jim Jordan in the House floor vote, who had narrowly lost to Scalise for the nomination.
"I like Steve Scalise, and I like him so much that I want to see him defeat cancer more than sacrifice his health in the most difficult position in Congress," Greene wrote after Scalise won in a 113-99 vote. "I lost my father to cancer and it’s a very serious battle."
"We need a Speaker who is able to put their full efforts into defeating the communist democrats and save America. We must stop funding foreign wars - Ukraine. We must stop the weaponized government and hold them accountable. We must secure our border. We must protect our kids."
"And we need a full leadership team dedicated to this fight in these unprecedented times."
Scalise was diagnosed with a form of blood cancer in August, and said last month that "the cancer has dropped dramatically."
It is currently unclear when the House floor vote on the Speakership will take place, which comes as Israel has delcared war on Hamas following a violent invasion, and ahead of the November 17 deadline to pass legislation funding the government to avoid a shutdown.
