MUST WATCH: NBC edits out NFL quarterback thanking Jesus Christ in post-game interview

After helping the team win 45-14 against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Stroud said during the live postgame interview with NBC’s Sunday Night Football, "First of all, I just want to give all glory and praise to my lord and savior, Jesus Christ."

"I mean, it’s been amazing being in this city for as short as I’ve been but the love that I’ve got. I’ve really just been doing it for Houston, man. The people back home, I’m blessed enough to be in the position that I’m in and blessed enough to be playing at a high level right now. We gotta just keep it going, but I’m super blessed," Stroud added.

When Sunday Night Football on NBC posted the clip to X thought, they chose to cut out Stroud’s line praising Jesus.

"CJ Stroud is an amazing quarterback and a devout Christian," Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk wrote on X. "But NBC is so afraid of him mentioning the name of Jesus Christ on air that they edited his post-game interview."

Former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb said on his Outkick show The Five Spot, "It’s very lame."

"Players always express that as well, and to have that cut out is truly, it’s disrespectful," he added. "There are a lot of people out there who are Christians and believe in Jesus, and those who don’t believe in Jesus, still, they don’t feel like that’s disrespectful to them.

"To cut it out and be a media outlet that’s focusing on the game interviewing these players, the fans want to feel as one with the player. And when they hear a player talk, they break down everything that young man says — and young woman. … I just think, for NBC, they stuck their foot in a hole at this particular point. They gotta get themselves out."
