MUST WATCH: NBC producer shuts down Trump chant at GOP debate

The enthusiastic support of the former president was quickly shut down, however, by an NBC producer, who told the audience that they had to be quiet.

"Trump! Trump! Trump! Trump!" members of the audience chanted, to which the producer replied, "That was awesome you guys, but that's the last time we're gonna do that, ok?"

She went on to explain that the point of the debate was to hear from the candidates, adding, "they worked really hard for us tonight."

There were fewer candidates on stage than in the last GOP debate, with the field having been narrowed down to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, former New Jersey governor Chris Christie, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, and tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

The latter came out swinging, taking aim not only at his competitors, but the RNC itself.

"I think there's something deeper going on in the Republican Party here and I am upset about what happened last night," he said, referring to the off-year elections in which Republicans lost across the board.

"We've become a party of losers. At the end of the day there is a cancer of the Republican establishment. Let's speak the truth. I mean, since Ronna McDaniel took over as chairwoman of the RNC in 2017, we have lost 2018, 2020, 2022. No red wave— that never came. We got trounced last night in 2023, and I think that we have to have accountability in our party."

Meanwhile, Trump's rally drew a massive crowd, all of whom were eager to show their support for the former president, who still sits dozens of points ahead of his closest competitor.
