NEW: Nancy Pelosi calls MSNBC’s Katy Tur an ‘apologist for Donald Trump’

Nancy Pelosi cited job numbers under Trump, saying that he was the "worst president" for job loss.

After Pelosi made the comment, Tur pushed back slightly, saying, "That was a global pandemic."

Pelosi then reiterated herself saying, "He had the worst record of any president, we've had other concerns in our country."

"If you want to be an apologist for Donald Trump, that may be your role, but it ain't mine," she added.

Tur then said that she doesn't think anyone can accuse her of doing that.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, unemployment skyrocketed under Trump, but only with the arrival of COVID-19 and subsequent lockdowns. Employment only rebounded to normal levels during the spring 2022 under Joe Biden's presidency.

The MSNBC host has previously been critical of Trump on many occasions. After Trump gave statement on the 9-0 ruling on the Colorado ballot decision in the Supreme Court, she said Trump’s response was a “word salad” instead of a speech.

The interaction with Pelosi appears to be touching on the same pattern of division in a video the host made about America’s lack of trust in media for "blowing everything up in a nuclear way" about Trump.

"There was just a Gallup poll out today that shows that the trust in media, in newspapers and television, is hitting an all-time low,” Tur said at the time in 2022.

"People don’t trust us," she added, "they don’t believe us and it makes me wonder if this job, as I’m currently doing it, is effective, but if it’s doing more harm than good. I don’t have a good answer for that. So those thoughts linger in the back of my mind."
