NEW: Texas is ‘prepared’ for clash with Feds after 10 states send troops to help secure border

Carlson asked Abbott over the phone, "If the administration declared that it plans to federalize the National Guard of the State of Texas... what will be your response?"

Abbott responded to Carlson saying that they are "prepared" if that were to happen. "We will continue to do exactly what we're doing," he added, saying that Texas will continue to put up razor wire to enforce the border. When asked if Abbott could see conflict arising, he gave a similar response.

Abbott added that if President Joe Biden decided to do so would be a "bone-headed move" by the president.

When Carlson asked Abbott if he had spoken to anyone at the White Houe about the potential clash, the Texas governor replied that nobody from the Biden administration has coordinated or has been willing to work despite sending eight letters to Biden.

Carlson asked the Texas governor what steps he thought would come next.

"I believe, however, this will all come to an end on January the 20th of next year, because I believe a new president will be sworn in. A president who will actually enforce the immigration laws of the entire country," Abbott answered.

Abbott revealed in the interview with Carlson that 10 states have started to send the National Guard down to the border to assist with the crisis.

After the Supreme Court's decision to grant the Biden administration an emergency request to be able to remove razor wire at the border. Texas has continued to put up more.

Abbott released a statement on Wednesday that stated Texas had a right to defend itself from an “invasion” from the border. The release declared, "The failure of the Biden Administration to fulfill the duties imposed by Article IV, § 4 has triggered Article I, § 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense."
