Newsom and DeSantis set to debate on Fox News

Newsom and DeSantis are scheduled to appear on Hannity’s 9 pm prime-time slot on Nov. 30, according to the network.

In a message issued by Fox, Hannity stated he is "looking forward to providing viewers with an informative debate about the everyday issues and governing philosophies that impact the lives of every American."

This comes as DeSantis has been attempting to boost his presidential campaign, with former President Trump leading DeSantis in numerous polls, including some in the governor's home state of Florida.

Trump did not participate in the first GOP primary debate last month, instead electing to be interviewed by Tucker Carlson. The former president discussed his choice on Truth Social at the time, asking hypothetically: "When you're leading by seemingly insurmountable numbers, and you have hostile Networks with angry, Trump and MAGA hating anchors asking the 'questions,' why subject yourself to being libeled and abused?"

DeSantis did take part in the first primary debate, and will be joining the next one on Wednesday. Trump will not be taking part once again.

Trump has asserted that Fox is intentionally attempting to boost DeSantis over him, and has blasted the network over its corporate ownership. He does, however, appear on the network from time to time, especially with Hannity, who he considers to be a friend.

Many have been speculating that Newsom is planning a presidential run despite his own claims to the contrary. The California governor has been on a media tour in recent days, and has gone for long-form interviews on various cable news channels. He additionally joined CBS News’ 60 Minutes for an in-depth conversation on Sunday.
