Gavin Newsom’s wife denies pressuring Rose McGowan to drop Weinstein claims despite email evidence

Director, author and all-around renaissance woman Rose McGowan is not taking a Newsweek article critical of her lying down. On Friday, McGowan took to social media to defend herself.
During the interview, McGowan told the public about the same incident, where Ms. Newsom tried to talk to her about convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein, purportedly on behalf of his lawyer, a man by the name of David Boies.
In fact, McGowan's tweet has embedded in it a reproduction of an email message from Ms. Newsom herself saying, in her own words, that she reached out to McGowan personally and specifically mentioned Boies, asking "what if anything Boies could do for her that would help her to heal."
The wider context is that McGowan claims that the Newsoms are trying to get her to drop her claim that Ms. Newsom and possibly other women have infiltrated Weinstein victims' groups in order to gather information, orchestrated by Boies.
Dave Rubin also tweeted in support of McGowan's claims, stating publicly that he has "seen the original [email]," and that Ms. Newsom is "flat out lying:"
Indeed, McGowan has a history of going against corrupt Democrats, including ex New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, who stepped down amid a damning investigation revealing evidence of at least 11 separate incidents of sexual harassment.
