WATCH: Peter Doocy says he received a phone call from Biden after the President called him a ‘stupid son of a b*tch’

"Within about an hour of that exchange he called my cell phone and said, 'It's nothing personal, pal,'" Doocy told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Monday.

"We went back-and-forth and we were talking about moving forward and I made sure to tell him that I'm always going to try to ask something different than what everybody else is asking and he said, 'You've got to,'" Doocy explained.

"That's a quote from the President so I'll keep doing it," the Fox News correspondent said.

Although Doocy explained that Biden didn't technically apologize, he said that they had a nice call and he appreciated the fact that Biden took the time to reach out to him when "the world is on the brink of World War III."

The Fox News reporter shrugged off the President's inappropriate comments and made light of the situation.

During the Monday press brief, Doocy asked President Biden questions about inflation, and instead of answering, the commander-in-chief, while shaking his head, muttered, "What a stupid son of a b*tch." It was unclear if Biden knew his mic was still live.

"Do you think inflation is a political liability…in the midterms?" Doocy reportedly asked Biden, according to Deadline. "That's a great asset. More inflation," Biden preluded the sarcastic reaction. Biden's scathing statements were heard when masked members of the press, including Doocy, were ushered out of the room.
