A scary scene unfolded in a Las Vegas courtroom on Wednesday during the sentencing of a convicted felon.
Upon hearing that he would not be given probation, 30-year-old Deobra Redden rushed the bench before jumping over it and tackling Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus to the ground.

View on XFootage of the incident shows Holthus responding to Redden's lawyer's request for probation by saying, "I think it's time that he get a taste of something else, because I just can't with that history."
As she continues reading out his sentence, the repeat offender can be heard screaming "F*ck that bitch" as he rushes to the bench and leaps onto her.
Chaos ensued as several people, including a marshal who was injured in the attack, eventually wrestled Redden off of Holthus and out of the courtroom.
According to News8, sources confirmed that while the judge hit her head, she was not seriously injured.
"Thank God the judge is okay," Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said in a statement, per News8. "Thank God for the heroic efforts of those who came to her aid, especially her marshal and her law clerk. Without them, the situation would have been much worse as this defendant exhibited extremely violent behavior and I’m confident there will be consequences."
Redden was subsequently hit with a slew of charges, including battery and battery on a protected person, and returned to the Clark County jail.
In November, he pleaded guilty to attempted battery with substantial bodily harm for threatening to "bust the kneecaps" of another man. He had been ordered by a different judge to undergo a competency exam, but was found to be fit in October.
He was also previously charged with malicious destruction of property and served a year in prison for domestic battery.
