Stacey Abrams’ Star Trek ‘Discovery’ appearance used to fundraise for Georgia gubernatorial campaign
It has been revealed that donations are now being solicited for the campaign of Georgian gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams after her cameo appearance on an episode of “Star Trek: Discovery.”
"Welcome to the Federation, Madame President! A great honor to have you among our ranks. @staceyabrams This trailblazing woman works tirelessly to champion voting rights and fair elections. She has my full support in her campaign for governor. Donate now:" tweeted actress Kate Mulgrew.
Mulgrew is herself famous for being involved with the Star Trek universe in a major way, having played the iconic role of Captain Janeway on "Star Trek: Voyager."
Abrams appeared on the show briefly and was announced as the "President of the United Earth." She is there for "diplomatic discussions" but then replies that there is "nothing to discuss."
Abrams, in real life, has been a lot more controversial. She has been a famous firebrand on the Georgia political scene for years now. The far-left Abrams lost the gubernatorial race in her state in 2018 by a narrow margin to current standing governer Brian Kemp.
