Three people were killed and eight injured following a Fourth of July celebration in Fort Worth, Texas Monday night. The shooting took place in the city's Como neighborhood shortly after the annual event, ComoFest, ended.
The mass shooting is just one of many recorded across the nation during the long weekend.

View on RumbleAccording to FOX 29, shots rang out just before midnight in the area of Horne Street and Diaz Avenue, just four blocks west of where ComoFest had taken place.
Of the eleven victims, ten were adults, and one was a juvenile, however, no further details have been released regarding their identities. Following the shooting, several of them were transported to a nearby Harris Southwest and John Peter Smith hospital in private vehicles, while an ambulance transported those who did not receive rides.
Fort Worth Police Department Captain Shawn Murray explained that the nature of the celebration made it hard for first responders to make their way into the area.
"A lot of vehicle traffic, a lot of foot traffic," he said. "Fireworks were being shot off, lots of people just trying to flee the area from the multiple gun shots, so it was difficult for them to navigate quickly."
Murray went on to note that investigators "don't know if this is domestic-related [or] if it is gang-related," saying, "It is too early to tell at this point."
"We just know somebody shot multiple times and a bunch of people were injured," he added. "Hopefully it is just a single shooter and wasn't a crossfire situation. Homicide will figure that out."
The suspected shooter is still on the run, and police have not been able to identify them.
ComoFest is typically a joyous occasion, with people from across the community congregating to enjoy musical performances, local vendors, good food, and special presentations.
