Zambrano-Contreras was warned that continued violations could result in deportation.

An alleged Tren de Aragua-affiliated prostitute who was shot in the chest by a Border Patrol agent in Portland, Oregon, earlier this year, was arrested again for violating probation conditions. Yorlenys Betzabeth Zambrano-Contreras, 32, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, violated her court-ordered 9 pm curfew 20 to 30 times, returning home late or leaving in the middle of the night, federal prosecutors said.
Zambrano-Contreras was rearrested on a warrant on May 7 and booked into the Yamhill County Jail. Federal probation officers said that the defendant "has an extensive non-compliance with her location monitoring curfew" and chose to continue to violate conditions "despite multiple intervention attempts by probation," according to court documents.
"It got to the point where it was just completely untenable," Supervisory US Probation Officer Dan Painter told US District Judge Stacie Beckerman during a Tuesday hearing, per the Oregonian.
Zambrano-Contreras appeared in court and admitted to the violations. She was arrested in January during a targeted immigration enforcement operation in Portland, in which she was shot by a Border Patrol agent in an act of self-defense when her alleged pimp, Luis David Nino-Moncada, also an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, allegedly committed a vehicular ramming attack against arresting officers to evade capture.
The US Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon offered Zambrano-Contreras a plea agreement that allowed the defendant to plead guilty to a 2023 illegal entry. She was sentenced to one year of supervised probation with GPS monitoring.
Defense lawyer Conor Huseby told the Court that Zambrano-Contreras stayed out late for a variety of reasons, including walking to a corner store to buy food, attending a cookout with friends, and helping her son, who was pulled over by police for driving without a license, according to the paper.
Judge Beckerman allowed her release from custody Tuesday, but expressed concerns about the number of repeated violations and warned the defendant that she could spend months in jail if she continues to disregard conditions. Huseby said he warned Zambrano-Contreras that continued violations could result in deportation.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in January that Zambrano-Contreras is associated with a Tren de Aragua (TdA) prostitution ring and was involved with a prior shooting in Portland. Online records show Zambrano-Contreras listed as a prostitute on several websites. TdA is a designated foreign terrorist organization rooted in Venezuela.
According to an FBI affidavit, Zambrano-Contreras was detained along with Nino-Moncada during an August 2025 prostitution sting in Portland. During a police interview, she reportedly admitted to being involved in a July 2025 shooting in Portland and listed several key players the pair had been working with, identifying them as Tren de Aragua gang members.
