President Donald Trump came out swinging on Truth Social after an activist federal judge blocked efforts by the Justice Department to force California to set aside ballots believed to have been cast by ineligible noncitizens.
Trump praised the efforts of Bill Essayli, acting US Attorney for the Central District of California, who identified thousands of ineligible voters in lists the DOJ recently furnished to California election officials that were cross-referenced with lists of noncitizens compiled by the Department of Homeland Security.
Of more than 20,000 individuals on the DOJ-furnished list, an analysis showed that approximately 12,000 likely overlapped with the state’s dirty voter rolls.
“Bill Essayli, has done a fantastic job,” Trump wrote in his Truth Social post on Saturday. “He is one of the best, EVER! He caught a massive number of Illegal Votes, 20,000, but potentially Hundreds of Thousands, and maybe even Millions, and the Court has just ruled against it.”
He said that the last-minute ruling before Tuesday’s midterm election looked a lot like partisan election-meddling.
“Why would they reject fixing Election Fraud? That’s like, in the 2020 Rigged and Stolen Election, when we had a great case, but the Supreme Court would not hear it,” Trump wrote.
Many of the legal efforts Trump and his allies waged seeking remedy amid his 2020 race against Joe Biden were dismissed due to procedural reasons rather than on their merit.
“Think of it, the President, on a Federal Election, has NO STANDING over himself, and so it goes,” Trump continued. “We are going to continue our yearslong fight on Election Integrity.”
Biden-appointed District Court Judge Trina Thompson demanded that federal officials halt their threats to hold California officials criminally accountable for allowing illegal votes to slip through the cracks.
According to legal expert Mike Davis of the Article 3 project, Thompson issued a temporary restraining order that blocked federal law enforcement through Nov. 16 after allegedly meeting in secret with the Democrat operatives waging the lawfare case, without prior notification to the DOJ.
Essayli noted in an Oct. 26 X post from a hearing in the Ninth Circuit court that California’s election officials had essentially acknowledged their intention was to allow ineligible noncitizen voters to cast ballots in the federal election.
He posted video of a judge asking the state’s legal representation, “You agree that if a non-citizen votes and we don’t stop it now, that vote will be counted, correct?”
The plaintiffs then responded, “That’s absolutely correct.”
