Violent incidents have increased in Houston in the past several months, including the Friday murder of an arson investigator with the Houston Fire Department, Lemuel "DJ" Bruce.
In the Friday incident, the investigator got into an argument with the suspect, who then pulled out a gun and shot him. Bruce died of his injuries at hospital an hour later. The suspect also died, apparently by shooting himself with his own weapon at the scene.
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo is expected to hold a press conference with more information at approximately 12:30pm Central Standard Time.
