WATCH: Ari Hoffman on Fox News discusses the defunding of Seattle police

Hoffman told viewers that, as police resources drop and crime numbers continue to climb, it is the public that suffers the consequences of the city's decisions.

"As the city council was discussing cutting the budget for the SPD by another 18 percent, two people were stabbed marking numbers 53 and 54 in Seattle." Hoffman said. "One of those people died"

Hoffman noted that the victim had actually been a city social worker—an employee who worked with homeless services. Her death, Hoffman said, shed questionable light on the city's plan to replace a part of its law enforcement force with other social workers. As demonstrated by the stab victim, it's an option that may have dangerous implications.

With over 2,000 police injuries in past year due to protests, both morale and resources supporting law enforcement have shrunk, leading to police leaving the SPD.

"Over 170 police officers have left the force so far this year. And a lot of the are leaving to transfer laterally to departments in nearby neighborhoods," Hoffman said.

"They're tired of being attacked and tired of being demonized. We are at the lowest deployable levels that we have had for police since the 1990's."

It's a problem Seattle has created for itself.

"This is going to continue to happen until either politicians grow a backbone or Seattle voters realize they keep voting for the same thing again and again," Hoffman said.
