WATCH: Charlie Kirk speaks about Washington church event cancelled due to violent threats from Antifa

On Friday, Motion Church in Puyallup, WA, cancelled an upcoming event with Kirk, due to safety concerns in the wake of threats against Kirk and the church. The event was billed as "An afternoon with Charlie Kirk" and was slated for May 2, 2021 at 1:00pm, to be held at the church's Puyallup campus, south of Seattle.

"I'm pretty upset. I'm not going to lie," Kirk began. "I was supposed to go to Seattle, Washington, to speak at a church, talk about the Bible, liberty, freedom, our nation. How are Christians supposed to interact with this moment? And should people give their lives to Christ? Of course they should. Antifa got word of this and Antifa threatened to create another CHAZ or CHOP." Kirk referenced the 'autonomous zone' established by armed Antifa and BLM activists, following the death of George Floyd.

Kirk continued, "Antifa threatened to burn churches destroyed people's lives, terrorized communities, and unfortunately the event had to be canceled due to public safety concerns." Kirk then played a clip of Pastor Roger Archer’s video that was posted on Friday, explaining to his congregation why the event had to be cancelled.

Pastor Archer said, "They sprung with threatening declarations. They vowed to not only burn our properties to the ground, but also brought threats of physical violence against our church leadership, our neighbors, their properties, and basically wreak havoc in our committee. This precious community that we love. I'm sitting here wondering what to do."

The Pastor then called out Washington Governor Jay Inslee’s inaction on defending citizens from Antifa terrorists. "Well, the recent history has taught us that there's an apparent lack of interest at the state level of leadership to protect decent tax paying citizens. Those terrorists mobs know that there is no consequence for their lawlessness. They have nothing to lose and nothing to fear."

After the clip, Kirk continued by praising the Pastor. "He's a good man. A lot of people are upset that the event got canceled, but you haven't been in a situation like that. When all of a sudden you might be held responsible for an entire community getting burned to the ground, I think in some ways, some things could have been handled a little bit differently. But Pastor Archer is a good man. And he was put in an impossible situation because our government would not protect its citizens. He called the National Guard and he said, ‘Hey, can you protect us against this 1,200 person mob that was going to form outside of our church?’ Nope. Police totally outdone, and out-manned, and this is exactly what we saw happen in Minneapolis. If you get enough people in the streets, and if you are willing to do this, burn our country to the ground, you'll get what you want."

Kirk then played a video of the destruction caused by Antifa across the country in 2020 and then continued, "You do that enough with no consequences at all. You can cancel events like me coming to Seattle, Washington. You can get what you want. You can terrorize people into action. This is a hostage situation. I'm not happy about this. My way of doing things is not the cower to them. It's to punch back twice as hard, but also, I'm not the one that has to live in that community. So, I always yield to the people at the most local levels to know what they're doing and how they're doing it. And this pastor, Roger Archer was in an impossible situation."

Kirk continued by asking, "How did we get here? It's because we did not draw the line early against these terrorists in our country. So now when I show up in Boise or Milwaukee or Columbus or New York city, I guess the new blueprint is that 1200 people in masks with weapons and the event can get canceled. That is not a government that protects our natural rights. That is a government that panders to the people in the streets. That are willing to use violence as a means for political power for, I will not be going to speak at Roger Archer's church because the terrorists won, you want to know the significance of the consequences of what's going on in our country right now. That's what's going on where a packed church will not be able to hear a message that they were excited to hear because our government would not protect them. This is only going to get worse verdicts from juries, decisions from on high, we are now yielding to the worst people in our society to people that are willing to use violence, to get what they want."

Kirk concluded by apologizing for not being able to be at the church to speak to the congregation. "Sorry. I won't be able to be there next week. I'm not happy about it. Thanks so much everybody. God bless."

Reproduced here below is the video of Roger Archer, the church's senior pastor, explaining recent events which led to their reluctant decision to cancel the event, which the church's site still lists as sold out.

A member of the board of the church and one of the organizers of the event told The Post Millennial, "People need to understand the threat is real. Religious freedoms and free speech are under attack!"
