WATCH: Jon Stewart claims Elon Musk is ‘not for free speech’
“Everybody keeps saying, you know, he’s for free speech,” he says. “He’s the last person for free speech. He’s not for free speech. I don’t know what… I don’t know what this is.”

Jon Stewart ripped into Elon Musk this week on his podcast, claiming that his takeover of Twitter is toxic and his commitment to free speech is disingenuous.
During a discussion with two of his staff writers, Kasaun Wilson and Alexa Loftus, he was asked about his thoughts on Elon Musk and the recent developments related to his acquisition of Twitter.

View on RumbleStewart attempts to reframe some of Musk's recent comments in order to fit his agenda, claiming that "[Musk] said 'this is a choice between tyranny and civilization.'"
Wilson describes the statement as "a little toxic," to which Stewart agrees.
"It's the most manipulative, bizarre framing of this like," Stewart says. "It just so happens that Western civilization depends on -- this is a coincidence -- the app he bought."
In an attempt to inject some humor into his rant, Stewart follows with an inaccurate comparison between Twitter and another popular app.
"I have a feeling if he had bought Angry Birds, he'd have been like, 'If there's any taking down of the anger of these birds, democracy dies,'" he says.
"Everybody keeps saying, you know, he's for free speech," he says. "He's the last person for free speech. He's not for free speech. I don't know what... I don't know what this is."
In the last few years, some users have had to be careful about letting their opinions be known on Twitter, particularly conservative opinions, for fear of being banned from the app.
